KROTON was founded by the Achaens and it was famous for the beauty of its women, for the fertility of its fields and for the healthiness of its land. Vines were rich in a red heady nectar and olives were sacred to the goddess Athena and they were rich in a smelly golden oil. On one side the climate in Kroton was particularly favourable for health and vigour of the body and on the other side the philosopher Pythagoras fed the mind in a time in which all Greeks joined the big games at Olympia, Delphi, Nemea, Corinth. During 100 years the Krotonians won as nobody else 50 crowns. ATLETA<\/span><\/strong><\/p>

Tra i Krotoniati ve ne era uno che nessuno pot\u00e9 mai eguagliare.<\/span><\/p>

Il possente MILONE<\/span>, la sua forza straordinaria e le proporzioni sovrumane e le tante vittorie hanno reso in ricordo immortale,\u00a0<\/span>come un dio<\/span>, in ventotto anni vinse 33 giochi, 7 olimpiadi di cui una ancora fanciullo, 7 pitiche, 9 nemee, 10 giochi istmici, per ben cinque volte fu \u201cPeriodonico\u201d, cio\u00e8 vincitore in tutte e quattro le citt\u00e0, la sua disciplina preferita era la lotta, vinceva chi riusciva ad atterrare per tre volte il proprio avversario oppure a spingerlo al di fuori dell\u2019area di combattimento.<\/span><\/p>

GUERRIERO<\/span><\/strong><\/p>

Aveva circa quarantacinque anni quando nel cinquecento dieci a.C. divenuto sacerdote del Tempio di Era,\u00a0<\/span>Milone guid\u00f2 l\u2019esercito della sua citt\u00e0 in battaglia contro il Sibariti, erano ben trecentomila questi ultimi e solo centomila il crotoniati ma lui \u00e8 vestito come Ercole con la pelle di leone la clava e il capo cinto delle sue corone olimpiche conquist\u00f2 la vittoria con il suo furore.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

IL PIU\u2019 FORTE DI TUTTI<\/span><\/strong><\/p>

Anche quando non combatteva Milone trovava sempre il modo di dimostrare la sua forza e\u00a0<\/span>spesso si divertiva a tenere stretta in mano senza recarle danno una melagrana che nessun altro per quanti sforzi facesse riuscita a sottrargli.<\/span><\/p>

Se si poneva su un disco unto e scivoloso metteva in ridicolo quanti con tutte le forze gli si buttavano addosso cercando di scalzarlo. Una volta salv\u00f2 la vita da alcuni pitagorici, tra cui lo stesso <\/span>Pitagora<\/span>, riuniti al banchetto mettendosi al posto di una colonna pericolante e sorreggendo da solo il soffitto che stava per crollare, tutti compreso lui ebbero cos\u00ec il tempo di mettersi in salvo.\u00a0 Si narra che corresse con un vitello sulle spalle per i suoi allenamenti e giorno dopo giorno il vitello divenne un toro sulle sue spalle per questo \u00e8 considerato padre del culturismo moderno e dell\u2019allenamento continuo.<\/span><\/p>

Persino ai giochi di Olimpia prese un toro di 4 anni e lo port\u00f2 in giro sulle spalle per tutto lo stadio solo per divertire i presenti e incutere timore negli avversari. I krotoniati per onorare il loro campione commissionarono al bronzista Dameas una statua che lo ritraeva ritto su uno scudo e con una melagrana nella mano sinistra.<\/span><\/p>

A dimostrazione di averla meritata Milone volle portare personalmente la sua statua sul Altis di Olimpia dove fu collocata.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
